DURHAM, N.C. -- Appalachian State women's track & field team took part in the Duke Invitational over the weekend.
Weather played a role in the meet on Friday, forcing the postponement of multiple events to Saturday.
Izzy Evely posted a ninth-place finish in a field of over 65 runners in the 5,000-meter run in 18:12.47.
Baylee Bilyeu tied her PR in the shot put, covering 42-2 (12.85m).
In the pole vault invitational,
Hannah Emery turned in a season-best height, clearing 11-11.75 (3.65)
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase,
Katelyn Butler finished 11
th with a time of 10:52.23.
The Black and Gold placed three in the top-30 of the 1,500-meter run, which featured over 100 runners.
Phylissa Greeley placed 18
th with a time of 4:35.12,
Elisa Sargent was 25
th in 4:39.93 and
Sarah Venable finished 27
th in 4:40.60.
App State will compete in one more meet next weekend at the Virginia Grand Prix, before competing at the Sun Belt Championships from May 10 to May 12 in Jonesboro, Ark.
