The Mountaineers finished 15-5 overall and 9-1 in league play to register the outright Sun Belt regular-season championship. App State is in the midst of a four-match win streak going into the postseason while it posted an 8-1 mark at home.

Sun Belt All-Conference
Head coach Blake Mosley was named the Sun Belt Women's Tennis Coach of the Year after leading the Black and Gold to its best season in school history. The Apps won 15 of their 20 matches en route to the regular-season conference title. Teodora Sevo and Sandra Anglesjö were named first-team all-Sun Belt doubles after posting a 9-3 mark. Sevo and Anglesjö tied for the team lead with nine doubles wins and a 9-3 mark. The pair played as the second duo in the lineup for 11 of 12 matches, while boasting a 7-3 mark over their last 10 contests. Sevo/Anglesjö were tied for second in victories among all doubles teams and tied for first among doubles pairings on Court No. 2 in the league. It's the first all-Sun Belt honor for Angelsjö in her sophomore season, while it's Sevo's second straight all-Sun Belt Doubles award. The sophomore from Serbia earned her all-second team singles nod after finishing the year 10-9 as the No.1 in the lineup. Sevo is tied for second on the team in singles wins and finishing the year on a 6-4 stretch over the past 10 contests. She was one of four players in the league to win 10 matches in the No. 1 position and was second in the top spot with six conference victories. Earlier this season, Sevo was named Sun Belt Player of the Week after going 2-0 in singles and doubles against Troy and South Alabama.

Dominating Doubles
The Apps have made it a point to capture the doubles point, as App State is 13-0 this season when it wins the doubles point. Appalachian finished 32-17 in doubles action, while it went 17-6 in conference play. Along with Sevo and Angelsjö, Rebecca Morse and Jeannez Daniel went 9-1 in doubles. Their season was highlighted by going undefeated in conference action with an 8-0 mark in the Sun Belt. Heidi Swope and María José Zacarias are 8-9 but have won their last three contests.

Wins Leaders
Six Mountaineers have at least eight wins in singles play with Swope posting a team-best 12-3 mark. Sevo and Daniel each have 10 victories, while Kate Earnhardt and Rebecca Morse each have nine wins. Rounding out the leaders is Zacarias, who has eight wins under her belt. Appalachian is 62-45 in singles and 32-17 in conference.

Scouting Georgia Southern
The Eagles earned the eighth seed after finishing the year after finishing 4-6 in the league on top of a 12-12 overall record. GS ended the season with a 4-3 win over Troy at home to snap a three-match skid. Georgia Southern has struggled away from its home court, as its just 2-8 in road/neutral contests. Luis Hrda leads the team with 17 dual victories in singles and has won her last 13 matches. Elizabeth Goins and Paula Boixader each have 14 wins to round out GS' singles leaders. The Eagles post a .595 win percentage in singles play this season. Arianne de Winter and Emilia Bujan were 12-8 in the regular season, which led to an All-Sun Belt Second Team doubles nod.

Previous Matchup
In the lone matchup earlier this season, the Black and Gold dealt their archrival a tight 4-1 defeat at the Deer Valley Racquet Club. App State won the doubles point while two of the three singles wins for App went to three sets.
