CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Appalachian State women's track & field returns to action on Friday and Saturday at the Charlotte Invitational. Field events begin on Friday at 3 p.m. with the hammer and at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the high jump and long jump. Running events on Friday start at 7:15 p.m. with the 1,500-meter run and on Saturday at 12:05 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay.
RECORD BREAKING WEEKEND
The Mountaineers saw
Phylissa Greeley continue to climb the top-10 list in the 800-meter run and also saw a school record fall at the Pepsi Florida Relays on Mar. 29 and Mar. 30:
- Greeley moved into sixth place in program history in the 800-meter run with a PR time of 2:11.27
- Greeley teamed with Izzy Evely, Kylee Frady and Elisa Sargent to break the school record of 9:11.45 by nearly five second in the 4x800-meter relay, crossing in 4:06.90
NCAA EAST REGIONAL RANKINGS
Katelyn Butler sits 51st in the NCAA East Region in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a mark of 10:48.94. The top 48 individuals in each event and top 24 relay teams qualify for the regional, which will take place from May 23 to May 25 in Jacksonville, Fla.
SUN BELT RANKINGS
The Black and Gold are well represented in the top-10 in seven events, seeing a total of 11 athletes ranked.
