CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- After taking last weekend off, Appalachian State men's track & field will return to action on Friday and Saturday at the Charlotte Invitational. Field events for the men begin on Friday at 3:30 p.m. with the javelin and 11 a.m. on Saturday with the shot put. Running events start on Friday at 7:30 p.m. with the 1,500-meter run and on Saturday with the 4x100-meter relay at noon.
ENTERING THE RECORD BOOKS
During their last competition,
Isaac Benz and
Tristian Shaver made their respective marks in the App State record books:
- Benz posted a time of 30:18.29 at the Raleigh Relays in the 10,000-meter run. His time represented a PR and is the ninth fastest time in the event in program history
- Shaver cleared 17-1.50 (5.22m) in the pole vault at the Pepsi Florida Relays. His mark rank second all-time in program history
NCAA EAST REGIONAL RANKINGS
The NCAA East Regional Championships take place in Jacksonville, Fla. from May 23 to May 25. The top 48 individuals in each event and top 24 relay teams qualify for the regional. The Mountaineers currently have six individuals ranked in the top-75 in the region across seven events.

The Mountaineers own 13 spots in the top-10 across eight events in the Sun Belt.
