ROCK HILL, S.C. – Appalachian State women's track & field competed at the ADIDAS/Winthrop Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
There was no scoring in the meet.
 
In the 5,000-meter run, the Black and Gold claimed two of the top eight spots. 
Samantha Kolor crossed third in the field of over 40 runners in 18:29.39, with 
Erin Jameson placing seventh with a time of 18:34.16.
 
Jenna Lineberry was fifth in the developmental 800-meter run in 2:25.99, while 
Sarah Venable posted an eighth-place finish in the invite 800-meter run in 2:17.56.
 
After qualifying eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.70 seconds, 
Jelonnie Smith shaved off nearly half a second to finish sixth in the finals of the event with a time of 57.27 seconds.
 
Hannah Emery finished in a tie for fifth place in the pole vault, clearing 11-3.75 (3.45m), while 
Kayla Carson was tied for seventh place in the high jump with a mark of 5-3.00 (1.60m).
 
Casey Turro placed ninth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a PR time of 12:09.48 and 
Hassani Burris was 10
th in the triple jump, covering 37-2.25 (11.33m).
 
App State will compete at two meets next weekend, with members of the team competing at the Raleigh Relays and others competing at the Pepsi Florida Relays. Both meets will take place on Mar. 29 and Mar. 30.
