ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Appalachian State women's track & field will continue its outdoor season on Friday and Saturday at the ADIDAS/Winthrop Invitational. Field events begin at 2 p.m. on Friday with the hammer throw and long jump, with running events set for 3 p.m. with the 100-meter hurdles. On Saturday, field events begin at 9 a.m. with the triple jump and javelin, with running events beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the 1,500-meter run.

The Mountaineers had a solid showing at the outdoor season opening 49er Classic last weekend. In all, App State claimed 13 top-eight spots in 10 events.

The NCAA East Regional Championships take place in Jacksonville, Fla. from May 23 to May 25. The top 48 individuals in each event and top 24 relay teams qualify for the regional. The Mountaineers currently have 17 individuals ranked in the top-75 in the region across 10 events.
