Special Promotions on Tap for Big Home Weekend in Women's Basketball

BOONE, N.C. - A pivotal week is in store for Appalachian State University women's basketball! As part of the two-game home series inside the Holmes Center, special promotions are on tap for both contests - first against Texas State (12 p.m.) on Thursday and then against UTA (2 p.m.) on Saturday.

Thursday, Feb. 7 | 12 p.m. | Texas State

Education Day
Thursday's contest is the annual Education Day game, where elementary and middle school students will arrive early for a student-athlete led tour of the campus prior to the game. In addition, giveaways from Arby's will take place during the game. 

Free Admission
Free admission will be for local students, faculty, and staff, as well as all Appalachian State faculty and staff. 

America's Top Talent
During halftime, America's Top Talent contestant, Tyler, will perform his balancing act as seen on the show.

Woodlands Meal Deal
At the Holmes Center concession stands, fans can buy a Woodland's meal deal including a sandwich and chips for $7.

Saturday, Feb. 9 | 2 p.m. | UT Arlington

Saturday's PACK HOLMES PINK matchup versus the Mavericks is the Play4Kay game that  will feature a number of o pportunities to support a great cause in raising and spreading the awareness in the fight against breast cancer. 

Free Pink T-Shirts
Pink App State women's basketball t-shirts will be provided to the first 50 fans. 

Silent Auction
A silent auction will take place during the game to benefit the High Country Breast Cancer Foundation. Various auction items will include (but are not limited to):

- Appalachian State women's basketball memorabilia signed by the 2018-19 team.  
- Appalachian State swag package.
- Appalachian Mountain Brewery Package including two tickets to HCBCF's Brushes & Brew on Feb.14. 
- Banff Mountain Film Festival Tickets.
- Pink Orchid Living Arrangement by Mountain Laurel Floristry.
- Hound Ears Golf Package for four, and more!

Cancer Survivors. 

Survivors who beat the deadly disease will be honored throughout the game. 

Chuck-A-Duck
Already a fan favorite, fans can buy a pink duck to throw on the court at halftime and the fan(s) whose duck(s) land closest to the target will win a prize. The purchase of a duck for this competition will benefit the High Country Breast Cancer Foundation.

Free Throw Challenge
Appalachian is off to a strong start in the Play4Kay Free Throw Challenge, which is taking place during the month of February. App is first in the Sun Belt and 15th in the nation with $625 pledged.
