BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Appalachian State women's track & field finished seventh of 12 teams at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala.
The Mountaineers tallied 56 points in the meet. Texas State claimed the team title with 128 points, Arkansas State was second with 92 points and Troy rounded out the top-three with 81 points.
The Black and Gold earned three individual all-conference honors and saw one relay garner in All-Sun Belt accolades during the two-day championship.
In the one-mile run,
Phylissa Greeley earned all-conference honors with a third-place finish in 4:54.75. Her time ranks as the fourth fastest in the event in program history.
Elisa Sargent also finished sixth in the race in a PR time of 4:57.62, moving into seventh place on the all-time list. Greeley also finished fifth in the 800-meter run, crossing in 2:13.00.
In action on Monday,
Hana Ratcliffe earned Second Team All-Sun Belt honors after a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter run in a PR time of 9:41.39. Her time also marks the second fastest time run in the event in program history.
Ashley Muschiatti turned in a third-place performance in the weight throw on Monday, covering a PR distance of 58-7.50 (17.87m). Her mark earns Third Team All-Sun Belt accolades and moves her into fifth place in the weight throw in program history.
Also on Monday, the Distance Medley Relay tandem of
Araybian Lilly,
Kylee Frady,
Izzy Evely and Sargent placed third for all-conference honors with a time of 11:56.22.
The Black and Gold placed three of the top-eight in the 5,000-meter run.
Emily Fedders placed fourth in a PR time of 17:37.92,
Katelyn Butler finished sixth in a PR time of 17:40.54 and Evely was right behind in seventh with a PR time of 17:42.19. Butler also recorded a seventh-place finish in the 3,000-meter run on Monday in 10:11.50.
App State also placed two in the top-eight of the pole vault.
Hannah Emery finished fourth with a mark of 12-2.75 (3.73m) and
Sofia San Miguel was eighth with a season-best height of 11-10.75 (3.63m).
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Jessica Dixon,
Erin Morrison,
Jelonnie Smith and Greeley placed sixth in 3:54.52.
Smith placed seventh in the 400-meter dash 57.22 seconds. Her time represents a new PR and betters her time of fifth in program history.
App State will now shift towards the outdoor season, which begins on Mar. 15 and Mar. 16 at the 49er Classic.
