BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State (1-3) will now host North Carolina A&T on Friday, Feb. 15 for a nonconference home-opening doubleheader in Boone. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Sywassyink/Lloyd Family Stadium, presented by AutoStar Nissan of Boone.
The Mountaineers will be the N.C. A&T Aggies' first competition of the 2019 season. The Aggies return 11 players and welcome eight freshmen and one transfer to their roster. They ended their 2018 campaign with a 7-37 overall record. The Aggies were 4-11 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
App State is 19-5 all-time against N.C. A&T. The last meeting between the Mountaineers and the Aggies was on Feb. 22, 2017 when
Kenzie Longanecker led the Apps to a 3-2 victory. In her 5.2 innings of work, she allowed only three hits and no runs with one walk and two strikeouts.

Keri White each had a hit apiece off of the Aggies' pitcher and current Aggie senior Mohagony Headen.
The Apps started the season strong with a 1-0 start for the first time since the 2013 season. App State is 1-3 with a win against Longwood, the Big South's 2019 favorite. The Mountaineers will have a total of 21 home games this season beginning with Friday's doubleheader.
