TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
- Friday, November 15, 4:30 p.m vs. Montana State.; played in Fleming Gymnasium
- Saturday, November 16, 3:30 p.m. vs. Tennessee Tech; played in Fleming Gymnasium
- Monday, November 18, 7 p.m. at UNC Greensboro; played in Greensboro Coliseum
- Live stats will be provided for the first two games with no stream. Monday's game against UNCG will have live stats and be broadcast on ESPN+. All three contests can be heard on the Appalachian Sports Network from Learfield IMG College
THE SERIES
- App State and Montana State have met six previous times, with each school winning three. The two teams last met in the 1997-98 season in Boone, with the Bobcats winning 71-69
- The Mountaineers hold a 5-2 advantage in the all-time series with Tennessee Tech. The two teams last squared off in the 2011-12 season at Tennessee Tech, with the Black and Gold prevailing 68-63
- App State holds a 22-20 edge in the all-time series with UNCG. The two squads last played in the 2013-14 season, with the Spartans winning 66-61 in Boone and 66-60 in Greensboro
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State improved to 2-1 on the season with a 68-62 home win over East Carolina on Tuesday night
- Justin Forrest had a game-high 22 points, going a season-best 10-of-11 (90.9 percent) from the free throw line. Adrian Delph had a career night, pouring in a career-best 19 points and grabbing a career-best nine rebounds. Isaac Johnson had a solid all around game, tallying six points, seven rebounds, a career-high tying five steals and two blocks
- Forrest is just one of three players in the Sun Belt to be averaging over 20 points per game, pouring in a league leading 22.0 points
- Through their first three games, the Mountaineers are shooting 47.7 percent from the field, which sits fourth in the conference
- App State is limiting opponents to just 25.9 percent shooting on three-pointers, which is second best in the conference. The Black and Gold held Ferrum (21.1 percent) and East Carolina (22.7 percent) under 25.0 percent shooting from beyond the arc
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
- Montana State improved to 1-1 with a 93-60 win over Rocky Mountain on Saturday
- The Bobcats appeared in the receiving votes section of the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major poll.
- In the win over Rocky Mountain, Michael Paulo had 16 points and seven assists, while Jubrile Belo tallied 16 points and eight rebounds. Harald Frey had 12 points, six rebounds and eight assists and Amin Adamu recorded 12 points
- Frey (23.0 ppg), Belo (14.0 ppg) and Paulo (13.0 ppg) are all averaging double figures in scoring for the Bobcats
- Belo also is averaging a team-high 8.5 rebounds through the first two games
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
- Tennessee Tech stands at 1-2 on the season after falling 85-80 in overtime at home to Wright State on Tuesday
- Four players reached double figures in Tuesday's game for Tennessee Tech. Darius Allen had 18 points, Keishawn Davidson had 14 points and seven assists, Jr. Clay tallied 12 points and Hunter Vick finished with 10 points
- The Golden Eagles feature a balanced offense with five players averaging double figures in Davidson (14.3), Amadou Sylla (13.7), Vick (12.3), Allen (12.3) and Clay (10.7)
- Sylla leads the team in rebounding at 9.0 rpg, whole Davidson has dished out a team-high 23 assists
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
- UNC Greensboro improved to 2-1 on the season with a 109-51 victory over Averett on Monday
- The Spartans are ranked No. 16 in this week's Collegeinsider.com Mid-Major poll
- On Monday, Kaleb Hunter poured in 24 points on 8-of-9 (88.9 percent) shooting. Off the bench, Michael Hueitt Jr. and Angelo Allegri each had 14 points and Keyshaun Langley tallied 11 points. James Dickey posted a near double-double with 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists
- Hunter leads the team in scoring (19.3 ppg), shooting percentage (70.4 percent), free throw percentage (88.9 percent) and rebounding (7.3 rpg)
- As a team, the Spartans have held their opponents to 58.3 points and 38.7 percent shooting
