The Apps bounced back nicely with an impressive 62-49 win over Texas State. App held TXST to a season low in points, while limiting the Sun Belt's leading scorer (Toshua Leavitt) to just 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting.
Ashley Polacek scored a game-high 16 points with five assists.
Madi Story fouled out on Thursday at UTA in 14 minutes, but came back to score 14 points and tie a season best with seven rebounds. The 49 points is the fewest Appalachian has allowed since the 2016-17 season.

Pre Stanley is averaging 24 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 48.6 percent from the floor, 57.1 from beyond the arc and 100 percent from the line. The 24 points per game are the most against any Sun Belt team. See if the sophomore can continue her play against the Chanticleers.
- Appalachian will face the Sun Belt's second-leading scorer in DJ Williams, who has scored in double figures in 12 of the 13 games she has played in. Last weekend, the Apps held the league's leading scorer (Toshua Leavitt) to just 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting. See if the Black and Gold can contain the efficient scorer.
- In CCU's seven losses, opponents are averaging 22.5 points off turnovers. In the Chanticleers eight wins, foes are scoring just 11 points off their miscues. See if the Apps can score off their defense.
- Coastal Carolina is one of the top rebounding teams in the nation, especially on the offensive glass (18.0 orpg). See if the Apps can keep Saturday's opponent off the glass.
- Over the past two games, Appalachian is shooting 43.2 percent from 3-point land. The Apps shot 40 percent in back-to-back games for the first time this season. Watch if the Apps' 3-point attack and get off once again on Saturday.

- Coastal Carolina arrives in the High Country on a four-game slide and 1-6 over its last seven games.
- CCU is one of the top rebounding teams in the nation, as its fifth in the nation in rebounds per game (46.7), fourth in offensive rebounds per game (18.0) and 14th in rebound margin (+10.1).
- DJ Williams has been one of the top scorers in the league averaging 17.2 points per game on 45.6 percent shooting.
- Naheria Hamilton is pulling down a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game and shooting 50 percent from the floor.
- Coastal Carolina is second in the Sun Belt in scoring at 77.9 points per game, which is also 28th in the nation.
- The Chanticleers are also getting to the line at a high rate, averaging 21.5 attempts per game.
Series History
Appalachian fell in the past two contests last season to the Chanticleers. The Mountaineers and Saturday's visitors are tied, 5-5. App's last triumph came in the 2017 Sun Belt Tournament with a 79-58 victory in the first round.
