BOONE, N.C. — During Saturday's homecoming football game, Appalachian State Wrestling received cheers from the crowd during an on-field recognition of the program's third straight Southern Conference title.
Additionally, wrestling manager Rachel Gallardo was named Appalachian State's Top of the Rock recipient at halftime of the football game.
The 2017-18 team coached by
JohnMark Bentley went 7-0 against league competition during the regular season and secured a SoCon sweep by winning the league tournament in Charleston, S.C., where the Mountaineers had finalists in eight of the 10 weight classes. App State also had four wrestlers compete at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland.

Alan Clothier are back from that. The list of returners includes another all-league selection in
Angel Najar, standout heavyweight
Cary Miller and three additional all-freshman choices in
Codi Russell,
De'Andre Swinson-Barr and
Joe Accousti. App State also returns
Matt Zovistoski, who redshirted last season after qualifying for the NCAA championships in 2016-17.
App State's dual-meet schedule includes home matches against North Carolina (Nov. 25) and Oklahoma (Dec. 16) as well as visits from SoCon rivals Campbell (Jan. 20) and Chattanooga (Feb. 3).

Single-match tickets are $7 (adult) and $3 (youth), with the visits from UNC, Oklahoma and Chattanooga set as premium matches with a price of $10 for adults and $5 for youth.
