BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State softball looks to take on mountain rival Western Carolina on Tuesday, April 3, in Boone for a doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m.
App State is currently 12-17, looking for two more wins on Tuesday to improve their record to 14 wins.
Keri White had an impressive weekend in Arlington, Texas, with at least one hit in each game against the UTA Mavericks. In game one, she went 3-4 with a two-RBI double. She also scored a run herself on a single from
Alisha Josey. White was accountable for four of the Mountaineers' 12 runs on the weekend.
Jenny Dodd still leads the Mountaineers as the designated player with a .382 batting average and a .632 slugging percentage. A. Josey has a powerful swing with five home runs and 22 RBI, both team highs for the season.
Mountain Matchup
Western Carolina is 8-17 this season with three Southern Conference losses to UNCG. The Catamounts are 0-7 without their home field advantage.
Madison Armstrong leads the Catamounts with a .318 batting average. She is tied with Kailey McNeil with 13 RBI. Hunter Gibbons heads the home run category with four this season.
Kinsey Liscio has started ten games and appeared in 12 for WCU with a 7.11 ERA and 42.1 innings pitched. Lily Hayes has pitched the most innings with 56, but Haley Brogden holds the lowest ERA with a 2.45 in her 12 appearances and 40 innings.
