Instagram About the Mountaineers The Apps are coming off a 92-50 loss to Texas State on Saturday. Appalachian had started the game going 5-of-7 from the field but went cold the rest of the way.
Anna Perez Gomez scored a career-high 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field. Gomez added a personal-high four rebounds in a season-best 22 minutes.

Lainey Gosnell added 10 points. Mathews dished out a team-high with five assists, giving the sophomore point guard her second game of the season with 10 points and five helpers. Gosnell provided much of her scoring at the free throw line with a personal-high seven makes.
What to Watch For • Coastal Carolina has been averaging 18.6 turnovers over the last four games, which is leading to 19.1 points off turnovers during the stretch for opponents. See if the App defense can force CCU into mistakes for easy buckets.

Nicola Mathews is averaging 10.6 points, 3.5 assists and 2.9 rebounds over the past 10 games while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 43.5 percent from deep and 78 percent from the free throw line. She's scored in double figures in six straight road games. See if the Australian point guard can continue her solid play.
• Since the Apps recorded a season-high 22 assists against Arkansas State in a 68-66 win, the Black and Gold has averaged just 8.5 assists over the past two games. See if the Mountaineers can get the ball moving on offense. App has assisted on 70 percent of its field goals in its six wins.
• Over the past six games (1-5), Coastal Carolina has allowed opponents to make 8.2 3-pointers in those contests. See if App can have a bounce-back performance after hitting just two trifectas in the setback at Texas State.
• The Bobcats shot 50 percent against the Mountaineers on Saturday, which was the highest field goal clip that Appalachian has allowed during conference action. See if the defense can get back on track.
Scouting Coastal Carolina • Coastal Carolina is on a four-game skid after falling to UTA in a narrow 65-63 setback.
