BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State's wrestling team will look to complete its pursuit of a third straight Southern Conference championship when it faces The Citadel on Sunday at 2 p.m. in McAlister Field House.
With a victory against the Bulldogs (1-11, 0-6), App State (8-4, 6-0) can clinch an outright title and a perfect 7-0 league record for the second straight year.
The Mountaineers secured at least a share of another SoCon championship when they came back to claim an 18-16 win at Chattanooga on Feb. 4. Their only dual meet action since then was a nonconference matchup with Duke at Varsity Gym on Feb. 8.
In the race behind App State, Chattanooga won 27-6 at Campbell on Saturday to finish 6-1 in the league standings and drop the Camels to 5-2. The Mountaineers won 18-12 at Campbell.
