About the Mountaineers

Last Time Out
App State went 25-of-28 from the free throw line, while the bench outscored UNCG's reserves, 17-2, to contribute to its first win of the season over the Spartans. Appalachian went 10-of-10 down the stretch in the final 2:56 of the game to pull out the victory. Lainey Gosnell
went for a season-high 14 points with five rebounds, while Pre Stanley scored 13 points for a second straight contest. Madi Story posted a season-best 11 points with seven boards. The 25-made free throws are the most since the Black and Gold converted 26 attempts against
ULM in 2016-17.

Hitting the Freebies
Through the first three games last season, App was 328th in the nation shooting 56.3 percent from the charity stripe. That has drastically changed, as the Mountaineers are 10th in the country shooting a stellar 84 percent from the free throw line.

What to Watch For
• Davidson is averaging 20 turnovers through the first three games of the season. Watch if Appalachian can force the Wildcats into turnovers for easy buckets.
• Over the first three games, the bench is averaging 16.3 points per game, outscoring the opponents' reserves by an average of four points. Appalachian's second unit outscored the UNCG bench, 17-2. Watch if App's bench can continue to produce.
• In the first two games (0-2) of the season, App assisted on just 15 of its 44 field goals. In the win over UNCG, the Apps assisted on 12 of their 19 buckets (63 percent). See if the Black and Gold can continue to move the ball for good looks.
• Pre Stanley is averaging 13 points and 5.5 rebounds over the last two games. See if the sophomore can continue her solid production on the road.
• Sarah Donovan has been averaging a double-double with 11 points and 13.7 rebounds per game. See if App can slow down Donovan on the glass.
