Are you alumni of Appalachian State University? If so what year did you graduate?
Chad & Kelly: "We both graduated from Appalachian in 1997."

What made you become an Appalachian State Mountaineer fan?

Chad: "For me it started after attending my first ASU football game as a junior in high school.  After attending that game I knew ASU is where I wanted to go to school.  There is a pride that comes with pulling for a school you have emotional ties to.
Kelly: "One of the first steps into being an adult is making the decision on where to go to college.  Stepping onto campus felt like I found home.  The simple act of putting on a hat or sweatshirt made me proud.  It was a social occasion to go to support student athletes and after graduating that pride never went away."

What is your favorite memory of Appalachian State Athletics?
Chad: "I have several.  Obviously the Michigan win was huge but for me I enjoyed watching us knock off #1 ranked Marshall as a student in 1994 with Scott Satterfield as the QB"
Kelly: "My favorite memory was traveling to Montgomery, Alabama to cheer on the Mountaineers as they won their first bowl game."

In your opinion, what is the best part of a home football game at Appalachian State on a fall Saturday?

Chad: "We love the entire gameday experience.  We arrive early to tailgate and have turned football Saturdays into a family event.  The cool fall air and gorgeous views are an added perk."
Kelly: "Our kids loved to hear the marching band and cheerleaders come through the parking lot to pep everyone up.  Hearing my kids scream at the top of their lungs when the cheerleaders led the crowd in the chant.."App…State"  Our kids have literally grown up coming to support the Mountaineers and talk about what they will do when they get to go college at Appalachian."

What makes you most proud of Appalachian State?
Chad: "First and foremost Appalachian is a special place.  When you meet someone in public wearing App State apparel you know you share a common bond.  I also love to hear our coaches talk about the athletes they recruit. It is great to hear that character is the first thing our coaches look for when they are out recruiting"
Kelly: "Each time we come to a game we see just how much the school has grown.  The campus proves how successful the college has been and reflects all of the possibilities for the future Mountaineers."

What made you decide to start supporting the education of current Appalachian State student-athletes through the Yosef Club?

Chad: "Appalachian State holds a special place in our family's heart. It is where we grew as students and adults.  We take pride in seeing the growth of the school and athletic programs so being able to be a part of that growth is important to us"
Kelly: "It"s all about giving back. These student athletes are just starting out and it's important for them to know that others care about their future and their success."

What advice would you give to other members of the App State family who are wondering what they can do to help the Yosef Club and Appalachian State athletics as a whole?
Chad: "I always try to remind people of how easy it is to be a part of the growth of ASU athletics.  Some people feel like they have to give large amounts of money to make a difference and nothing could be farther from the truth.  There are ways to get involved that fit every budget and every type of engagement helps the programs."
Kelly: "It's easy to help the various programs out.  Whether financially or by donating time you can make a difference"
