Are you alumni of Appalachian State University? If so what year did you graduate?
Tommy: "Yes, BS in Business, 1983."
What made you become an Appalachian State Mountaineer fan?
Tommy: "I spent a lot of time in the High Country growing up and then began coming to football games in high school."
What is your favorite memory of Appalachian State Athletics?
Tommy: "It's hard to pick just one, but not necessarily in this order: just about any home game, December playoff games, national championship games, our first bowl victory and most recently going to New Orleans and making it four bowl wins in a row."
In your opinion, what is the best part of a home football game at Appalachian State on a fall Saturday?
Tommy: "Our tailgate with our family and good friends. We're undefeated at tailgating (home and away) for over 30 years! It's hard to beat a fall Saturday in the High Country with cooler temps and the leaves changing when the Mountaineers take the field."
What makes you most proud of Appalachian State?
Tommy: "No matter where you are, if you see someone else in App gear, you exchange a 'Go App' or 'Go Mountaineers.' It is that feeling that we all have of what a special place the campus and Boone were when we were here, and it continues to be a very special place."
What made you decide to start supporting the education of current Appalachian State student-athletes through the Yosef Club?
Tommy: "The great experience I had as a student and have continued to have as an alumnus. I just wanted to give a little something back."
What advice would you give to other members of the App State family who are wondering what they can do to help the Yosef Club and Appalachian State athletics as a whole?
Tommy: "Do whatever you can. Attend a game of any of our sports teams, join the Yosef Club, attend an alumni event in your area — just give something back in time and or financial resources."
