BOONE, N.C. — After a 2-0 weekend with a pin in Appalachian State's first league match, senior
Forrest Przybysz has been named the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week.
Competing at 174 pounds during the Mountaineer Duals at Varsity Gym, Przybysz won by a 6-2 decision against Bloomsburg and opened the SoCon schedule with a pin early in the second period of his match against Davidson. App State (2-0) picked up 28-7 and 45-0 victories.
Przybysz is one of two seniors on the Mountaineers' roster, and he has a 60-39 career record after wrestling at 165 pounds earlier in his career.
App State, which had two voting points in
the USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll released this week by the National Wrestling Coaches Association, is scheduled to compete Sunday at the Keystone Classic in Philadelphia.
