Mountaineers Welcome Bridgewater to Holmes Center on Sunday

BOONE, N.C. -- Fresh off a record breaking victory on Saturday, Appalachian State hosts Bridgewater at 3:30 p.m. in a non-bracket game as a part of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Myrtle Beach. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.

TICKETS

The Mountaineers are running a 2 for $20 special for the game, where fans can purchase two tickets for a total of $20 or a pair of youth tickets for a total of $10. Fans can also purchase tickets online using the promo code "2for20" for the game by clicking here.

Fans can still purchase a 2017-18 Appalachian State basketball season ticket, which reserves a seat for all 26 regular-season games at the Holmes Center (13 men's, 13 women's), costs just $175 for courtside. Non-courtside season tickets are $100 for adults, $80 for senior citizens (ages 60 ) and Appalachian State faculty/staff and $50 for youth (ages 3-12). Appalachian State basketball season tickets can be purchased online by clicking here, by phone at (828) 262-2079 or in person at the Appalachian State athletics ticket office, located at the Holmes Center (Monday - Friday; 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.).

  • This is the first ever meeting between the two schools.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
  • Appalachian State posted a win for the record books on Saturday, topping Toccoa Falls 135-34 on Saturday.
  • The Apps (1-0) 134 points topped the previous program record of 120 points, set in a victory over Wofford on December 7, 1977.
  • The 101-point margin of victory betters the program record of 68, set last season in a 119-51 win over Warren Wilson. It is also just the sixth game in Division I men's basketball history to have a margin of victory over 100 points. The 101-point win also was tied for the fifth largest margin of victory in Division I history. (ESPN Stats & Info)
  • App State made 50 field goals in the win, bettering the previous mark of 49 set on February 13, 1978 against Chattanooga. The Mountaineers also set a new program standard in 3-pointers made, draining a total of 20, topping the previous mark of 17 set against the Citadel on January 27, 2006.
  • All 13 Mountaineers to see action played double digit minutes and scored. Junior Ronshad Shabazz  led App State with a game-high 24 points on 61.5 percent (8-of-13) shooting and also set a new career-best with five assists.
  • Junior Trey Ford and junior Kevin Kerley each set new career scoring highs, tallying 15 and 10 points, respectively.
  • Sophomore Isaac Johnson posted a new career-best with 13 rebounds and junior Jake Wilson also set a career-high in rebounds, pulling down 11 in the win.
     
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
  • The Eagles played an exhibition at James Madison on Friday evening, falling 80-50.
  • Dimetri Chambers tallied a team-high 20 points and three rebounds to lead the Eagles.
  • Zach Breathwaite added seven points and four rebounds, while Davrion Grier finished with six points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.
NEXT UP
  • App State will take on Iowa State in Conway S.C. on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the first of three bracketed games at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off at Myrtle Beach. The matchup will be aired on ESPNU.
