Last Time Out
The Mountaineers staged a comeback after trailing by as much as 17 and cutting the deficit to one in the fourth quarter, 66-65, but fell short. Madi Story led four student-athletes in double figures with 14 points while Bria Carter led the team with eight rebounds.

Senior Day
•   Wood and Cooper will be honored for their dedication and commitment to the App State women's basketball program. Both student-athletes played all four seasons and have been staples since arriving on campus. Wood has started in a personal-best 12 games this season while hitting a career-high 24 3-pointers. She's hit 84 trifectas for her career and has played in 121 career games with 21 starts.

•   Cooper's all-around career has been nothing short of solid. The Spartanburg native is tied for 13th all-time with 624 career rebounds heading into the game. For her career, the senior forward has started in 76 games and appeared in 106 contests while shooting 55.4 percent from the field and averaging 6.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. In two of four seasons, Cooper has led the team in field goal percentage, including this season where she is first in the Sun Belt at a 58.9 clip. She also leads the team in rebounds this season (7.2) and ranks sixth in rebounding and fifth in blocks in the Sun Belt.

An App State Win Would
• End the Apps' regular season at 12-17 and 8-12 in the conference.

• Snap a three-game losing streak at the Holmes Center.

• Give App State the seventh seed if Texas State loses on Saturday.

• Become the second team in conference play to defeat Arkansas State (Little Rock).

• Drop A-State to 24-5 and 18-2 in the Sun Belt.

• Give Appalachian its second-straight home win over the Red Wolves.

• Give the Red Wolves their second-straight loss, which would be a first this season for A-State. 

Five Things to Watch vs. Little Rock
•  Kaila Craven has averaged 15 ppg on 42.9 percent shooting from the field and 60 percent from outside the arc over the last two games. Watch if the scorer can keep up the strong play against Arkansas State.

•  App State got off to a slow start in the first meeting where A-State held Appalachian to 29 percent shooting and forced 17 first-half turnovers. See if the Mountaineers can get off to a faster start.

• Aundrea Gamble (18.3 ppg) and Khadija Brown-Haywood (16.9 ppg) make up 47.2 percent of the team's scoring output and are the two lone student-athlets for Arkansas State that scores in double figures. Brittany Gill and Jessica Flanery both scored over 10 points in the first meeting. Watch to see if Appalachian can make sure none of the supporting cast goes off.

• In the Red Wolves' four losses, the defense has allowed opponents to shoot 47 percent from the field. Overall, A-State is allowing opponents to shoot just 39.5 percent. Watch if App State can get a rythm on offense.

• A-State scored 24 points in transition to Appalachian's one field goal. Watch if Appalachian's transition defense can limit the Red Wolves from getting easy buckets.

Scouting Arkansas State (24-4, 18-1 SBC)

•  The Red Wolves are coming off their first loss in conference play against Little Rock on Tuesday, 71-69.

•  Arkansas State has lost all four games on the road this season, while boasting a 13-0 mark at home.

•  The Red Wolves are second in the conference in scoring at 74.5 ppg and first in scoring margin (+15.4).

•  A-State is led by the duo of Aundrea Gamble and Khadija Brown-Haywood, who average a combined 35.2 ppg, equaling 47.2 percent of the team's scoring output.

• Gamble (18.3 ppg) and Brown-Haywood (16.9 ppg) both rank in the top five in the Sun Belt in scoring.

•  Brown-Haywood also leads the conference in rebounding at 9.2.

•  A-State is 3-2 in the all-time series after defeating Appalachian, 83-60, in Jonesboro.

•  Jones finished with 10 points while Mia Marshall collected a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
