App State Wraps Up Wake Forest Open

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Appalachian State University men's track and field wrapped up day two of the Wake Forest Open on Saturday and added to its seven top ten finishes on day one with eight more on Saturday.

The Mountaineers placed two in the top five of the 800 meter run with Ryan Hastings and Andrew Harris finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Hastings finished with a time of 1:55.66, while Harris turned in a time of 1:55.72.

Stanley Broaden took first in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 52.43.

In the field, Nick Hinton finished sixth in the high jump with a leap of 6'1” and Nathan Milch placed eighth in the discus with a throw of 150'2”.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Antonio Marcano, Jr., Will Buckley, Eric Price and Marshall McRae finished in third place with a time of 42.15. In the 4x400 meter relay, Appalachian State had two teams place. The group consisting of Trey Edgerton, Hastings, Broaden and Peter Ovendorf took third with a time of 3:26.15.

Finishing in ninth was the team of Brandon Smith, Buckley, Harris and Andrew Spear with a time of 3:32.17.

Appalachian will return to action next weekend at the Raleigh Relays.
