Basketball Season Tickets, Holmes Center Changes

With basketball season right around the corner, Appalachian State University athletics announces seating changes at the Holmes Convocation Center for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

With the coming of the new season, the Yosef Club hospitality section has been moved from in front of section fifteen to the southeast corner of the arena in front of section five and six.

The bleachers in the space previously occupied by the Yosef Club will now serve as the student section and the location for the Appalachian State marching band.

Season tickets for men's basketball for the upcoming season are $100 for adults, $80 for faculty and staff and senior citizens (limit two tickets) and $50 for youth (ages 3 to 12). For women's basketball games, it's $50 for adults, $30 for faculty and staff and senior citizens (limit two tickets) and $25 for youth (ages 3 to 12).

Men's basketball head coach Jim Fox and women's head coach Angel Elderkin both wanted to express their excitement for the season and the opportunity to make the Holmes Center one of the toughest venues to play in the Sun Belt Conference this season.

Dear App Nation:

I hope you had an enjoyable summer and like me, are enjoying some great football at The Rock.

Over the summer, our team traveled to Europe and it was a lifetime experience for our players.  You would have been proud of our team and the way they represented App State Athletics.

Now that practice has begun, our vision is to build the program into a perennial Sun Belt title contender.  We are a young, hungry and talented team.  We have a schedule that will challenge us daily.  The schedule will prepare us for the Sun Belt Tournament.

As I travel around speaking to App Nation, I hear time and again how much everyone supports our program and we cannot thank you enough.  However, our team is missing something….we need to make the Holmes Center a home court advantage and that begins with fans. We need our fans in the seats giving our players the support they desire.

For the last several years, I have said the model for our program is not far away….it is right up Stadium Drive.  The support our championship football program gets is off the charts. Although we are not at that championship level yet, we are building the culture.

Invest now!  Get on board! We will be champions soon; so come join us at the Holmes Center this season.

Our team has been working extremely hard to bring its best brand of basketball to the court this season.
