Johnson City, Tenn. - Appalachian State University men's track and field won two events and placed eight in the top three on Friday and Saturday as part of ETSU's David E. Walker Kickoff Classic.
In a meet that wasn't scored, Ryan Hastings won the 800 for the second time in as many meets, this time with a mark of 1:55.43, while Antonio Marcano Jr. took first in the 200 and was clocked at 22.14.
Two Mountaineers placed second in their respective events including William Buckley in the 60-meter dash (6.86) and Nathan Milch in the shot put (54-9.50).
When it came to third-place finishers, those included Marshall McRae in the 60 (6.96), Phillip Thomas in the pole vault (15-11.00), John Leonard in the shot put (52-2.50), and Milch again in the weight throw (58-4.00).
Next up, the Apps will travel to Lexington, Ky. for the Kentucky Invitational on Jan. 15-16.
