BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University field hockey earned Division I National Academic Team honors on Monday, announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.

In order to recieve the award, teams must post atleast a 3.0 GPA during the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year.

In addition, two Mountaineers were named NFHCA Collegiate Scholars of Distinction. Sam Fuerstenberg and Abbie Roberts each received the honor after maintaining a GPA of 3.90 or higher during the first semester.
