Men's Track and Field Wraps Up Weekend Invite

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Appalachian State University men's track and field concluded the Sykes and Sabock Challenge Cup on Saturday.

On Day one, the Mountaineers were led by freshman Kimani Hoffman with a third place finish in the long jump. Hoffman jumped 23-4.50. Senior Henry Bustle took sixth with a jump of 23-2.75.

Marshall McRae took sixth in the 60 meter dash with a final time of 6.89. In the weight throw, Nathan Milch finished eighth, while John Leonard took 14th and Mason Lasater finished in 17th. Milch threw 55-5.00 – good for a personal-best. Leonard threw 52-2.00 and Lasater threw 50-10.00.

In the 5,000 meter run, Chris Anderson took 15th with a time of 15:08.93. The time for Anderson was good for a personal-best.

On day two, Hoffman placed fourth in the triple jump with a person-best of 49-7.75 feet, while Bustle took sixth with a jump of 48-0.00 feet.

In the 3,000 meter run, Josh Cox finished in 8:31.85 and took 13th place. Kyle McFoy placed 15th and finished in a time of 8:34.58.

Raphael Rojas took 18th in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:55.39 and Ryan Hastings ran a personal-best 1:55.50 and took 19th.

Milch took eighth in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 53-7.75 feet.

The Mountaineers will return to action next weekend when they travel to Birmingham, Ala. for the Samford Invitational on Feb. 14.
