Women's Basketball Seeks Win Against UALR

BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's basketball is set to host UALR on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Holmes Center.

The Mountaineers (10-11, 5-7 Sun Belt) have lost two-straight games, while the Trojans (19-3, 12-1) are at the top of the conference after defeating Texas State last week.

App vs. UALR
• The Mountaineers are 0-1 against the Trojans, after falling to UALR earlier this season with a score of 69-48
• The Trojans' defense proved to be too much for the Apps as they finished the game with their lowest point total of the season
Maryah Sydnor led the team with a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds
• UALR had four players score in double-figures in the win, with Alexius Dawn leading the team with 17 points

All About the Apps
Appalachian State • 10-11, 5-7
• The Mountaineers lost their second-straight game last Saturday, falling to Troy with a score of 108-87 at the Holmes Center
• The Apps had no trouble scoring in the game, tallying 87 points, but struggled defensively by allowing a season-high of 108 points from Troy
• Four players scored in double-figures for the Apps with Bria Huffman leading the team with 17 points

• The Trojans are first in the conference standings after losing just one Sun Belt game so far this season to Arkansas State
• UALR beat Texas State last Saturday in Little Rock, Ark. with a score of 70-43
• Taylor Gault led the team with 19 points, while Keanna Keys added 14
• The Trojans have three players averaging double-figures this season with Gault leading the way with 15.8 points per game
• Shanity James adds 11.6 points and a team-leading 7.4 rebounds per game, while Alexius Dawn is averaging 10.3 points per game
• Ka'neisheia Cobbins leads the league in assists per game with an average of 5.0
• The Trojans have beaten opponents by an average scoring margin of 15 points this season
• Opponents have scored an average of 50.1 points against the Trojans this year, giving UALR the second-best scoring defense in the country
