WXC Takes First in Three Stripe Invite

CARY, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's cross country took first place out of two teams (Longwood) with a team score of 17 at North Carolina State's Three Stripe Invitational 5K on Saturday morning.

App State was led by Emily Fedders in eighth place out of 30 competitors and she was clocked at 18:40.79. Right behind the freshman was Erin Jameson in ninth (18:49.55) and Ann Sekutowski was the final Mountaineer to finish in the top 15 and did so in 13th (19:13.07).

Sarah Hoffert (18th) and Kerry Leonard (19th) rounded out the scoring for the Black and Gold with times of 19:43.33 and 19:47.20, respectively.

Next up, Appalachian will travel to Charlottesville, Va. on Friday, Nov. 13 for the NCAA Southeast Regional, which is set to begin at 11 a.m.
