Men's Hoops Conducts First Practice of 2015-16

BOONE, N.C. – High energy and intensity were evident as Appalachian State University men's basketball conducted its first official practice of the 2015-16 season on Saturday morning at the Holmes Center. The practice was open to the public and a number of spectators showed up to catch their first glimpse of the men's basketball team.

The Mountaineers, now in their second season under head coach Jim Fox, began the two-hour practice with the coaches splitting the squad into backcourt and frontcourt groups to work on position-specific drills with several one-on-one competitions.

Following the split session, the entire team took the floor to run live game situations on offense and defense. Both the staff and players went full speed throughout the entire practice.

The Apps return to the court on Monday for its second practice. Be sure to check appstatesports.com throughout the month of October for more practice reports and interviews.
