BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's basketball will begin the Sun Belt era on Saturday when they play Arkansas State at 4:05 p.m. in Jonesboro, Ark.

The Mountaineers (5-4, 0-0 Sun Belt) will play in their first conference game after beating Catawba on Tuesday, 81-54. The Red Wolves (6-5, 1-0) recently got the win over Sun Belt opponent South Alabama, 62-50, in their first league match of the season.
