DAVIDSON, N.C. – Appalachian State University men's tennis kicked off its fall slate by collecting 13 wins, 10 in singles play and three on the doubles side, at the Davidson Invite over the weekend. The Mountaineers competed against Charlotte, Davidson and USC Upstate.

Oliver Casey finished 2-1 at the No. 1 singles spot with wins over opponents from Charlotte and Davidson while Jack Maddocks also finished 2-1 at No. 3 with wins over foes from Charlotte and USC Upstate.

Chris Mahan also had a strong showing by finishing 2-1 at No. 8 singles, grabbing victories against players from Charlotte and Davidson.

In doubles play, the tandem of Jan-Willem Kleynhans/Robert Jenkins led the way with a 2-1 mark at the No. 2 spot thanks to wins over teams from Davidson and USC Upstate.

Appalachian will host its annual Alumni Tennis Weekend in Boone this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 3-4) before hitting the road again at the Charleston Invite from Oct. 10-12.
