BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University athletics will honor the memory of Yosef Club founder and longtime Appalachian State Director of Alumni Affairs Fred Robinette when Appalachian baseball hosts Campbell on Wednesday, March 5 at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem, just miles from Robinette's home. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
Fred Robinette Day will include a pregame ceremony and video to honor the memory of the Appalachian State legend, who died on January 25 after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Fans are encouraged to attend the game and pay tribute by supporting Robinette's beloved Mountaineers in his own backyard.
During his time at Appalachian State, Robinette not only led Appalachian's Alumni Association and founded the Yosef Club (the athletics department's fundraising arm) but also established the University's Student Ambassadors, the Annual Fund, Alumni Reunions, Alumni Travel Program and local Alumni Chapters. He retired as the Associate Vice Chancellor for University Advancement and continued to be an ardent supporter of the university and its athletics programs until his death.
Tickets for the Fred Robinette Day showdown between Appalachian State and Campbell are just $10 and can be purchased online by clicking HERE.
