Field Hockey Adds Taylor to Coaching Staff

Boone, N.C. – Appalachian State University head field hockey coach Brandi Alexander Kist has announced the hiring of Jenna Taylor as a new assistant coach.  Taylor joins the Mountaineer coaching staff after finishing up her senior season as a midfielder at James Madison University.

“Jenna will bring a wealth of knowledge from her own experiences, especially helping out with our midfield,” said Alexander Kist. “Having just graduated, she will relate well to our players and is already establishing a good rapport with the team.”

While at James Madison, Taylor was named first team All-CAA her junior and senior seasons.  During her senior campaign she was a second team NFHCA All-South Region selection, NFHCA Division 1 senior game selection and a CAA Commissioner's academic award recipient.

“As soon as I first stepped foot on this campus it felt like a place I could call home,” said Taylor. “I chose to begin my coaching career here at App because it has such a welcoming and supportive environment. I'm excited to work alongside such a great coaching staff and have the privilege to coach this group of young women.”

Field Hockey will open their season against Kent State on Sept. 1 in Harrisonburg, V.A.
