BOONE, N.C. – As
part of its ongoing community service efforts, the Appalachian State Women's
Basketball team spent this past Sunday afternoon helping members of the Boone
United Methodist Church get ready for their annual Fall Bazaar.
The
event, which is in its 27th year, takes place this Friday and Saturday (Sept.
16-17) and will serve as a fundraiser for the church's missions and building
funds.
The
Mountaineers helped unload two semi-truck trailers full of clothing,
electronics, toys and other items, which will be sold during the event.
The
Fall Bazaar will run from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday and 7:30-11 a.m. on
Saturday. The event also includes a silent auction, which will feature items
such as jewelry, china, silver and other items from local businesses.
Other
items for sale include handmade crafts, baked goods, jams and jellies and
Christmas items. Church members will also be serving breakfast on both days and
lunch on Friday.
The
Boone United Methodist Church is located at 471 New Market Blvd., directly
behind the New Market Shopping Center.
