2010 SoCon Basketball Championships Information

ASU athletics and the Yosef Club have many ways for Mountaineer fans to support the Black and Gold at the 2010 Southern Conference Basketball Championships in Charlotte. Convenient to many Appalachian faithful, the tournaments are set for March 4-6 at Bojangles Coliseum and March 7-8 at Time Warner Cable Arena in the Queen City. To ensure seating with Mountaineer fans, purchase tickets through the ASU athletics ticket office, either online (click HERE for to purchase online) or by phone at (828) 262-2079, or through www.SoConTravel.com. Tickets purchased through both the ASU athletics ticket office and www.SoConTravel.com are part of Appalachian's official allotment.

***PLEASE NOTE***: Seating behind the team bench is reserved for players' parents and family. A limited number of wristbands for seating behind the bench will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the Yosef Hospitality events (see info below). Should ASU advance to Monday's finals, a larger allotment of wristbands will be available but still distributed first-come, first-served at the Yosef Hospitality event. A game ticket is required to accompany the wristband at the venue.

“Buzzing To Charlotte” Charter Bus Day Trips
Fans can take advantage of a unique opportunity to watch the Mountaineers as they advance towards the Big Dance as ASU Athletics is excited to offer a fan bus to Charlotte for each of the ASU men's basketball's Southern Conference tournament games.

For the Mountaineers' first game (Saturday at 7 p.m.), the fan bus will leave from Owens Field House (please note new departure location) at 3:45 p.m. Check-in begins at Conrad's Coffee (Located on the corner of the shopping center, next to CVS) starting at 3 p.m.Other departure times will be determined upon completion of each round.

The price is $25 for adults and $15 for youth (12 and under) per trip and will offer transportation to Charlotte and back to Boone as well as a ticket to the game! To reserve a spot, call the ASU ticket office today at (828) 262-2079.

Join the Charlotte-Metro Alumni Association and Yosef Club Chapters for a Mountaineer Basketball Tip-off Event. Meet your Appalachian friends for food and fellowship in support of our Mountaineers! Live at 7 p.m., the Voice of the Mountaineers, David Jackson will broadcast “Mountaineer Talk” with special guests, men's basketball head coach Buzz Peterson and women's basketball head coach Darcie Vincent. Other special guests will be on hand as well. Don't miss this exciting tip-off to Southern Conference Tournament action!

Yosef Hospitality Venues
The Yosef Club will host members at all levels at the Southern Conference Basketball Tournament hospitality venues. Saturday's reception begins at 5 p.m. and will include heavy hors d'oeuvres and refreshments (cash bar, first-come first-served for all food and non-alcoholic beverages).

Bojangles Coliseum
Yosef hospitality for games hosted at the Coliseum will be held at the Starlight Lounge inside of Ovens Auditorium. Ovens Auditorium is located directly beside the Coliseum. Park your car and head to the right side of the Coliseum. You will see Ovens Auditorium and can proceed inside the main entrance where there will be signs to direct you to the Yosef Room.

Time Warner Arena
Yosef Hospitality for games hosted at Time Warner Arena will be held at BlackFinn American Saloon at the Epicentre off of East Trade Street. This fun location is just a few minutes walk from the basketball action. Look for the signs to direct you to the official Yosef Room once you arrive. Sunday's reception begins at 6:30 p.m.

Finals Hospitality Schedule
• If both Appalachian teams are in the finals or if only the ASU women advance to the finals, hospitality will begin at 3 p.m.
• If only the ASU men advance to the finals, hospitality will begin at 7 p.m.

Appalachian ISP Sports Network
The Appalachian ISP Sports Network will provide wall-to-wall radio coverage of the men's tournament. The crew tips off with first-round coverage Friday afternoon and will take you all the way through Monday's title game. While watching the drama unfold, tune your radio dial to 87.7 to catch the call from David Jackson, Randy Jackson and Phil Brame inside Bojangles Coliseum and Time Warner Arena. A full list of sations carrying the Appalachian ISP Sports Network coverage (include all ASU women's games) will be available at GoASU.com as the tournaments draw near.
