LEXINGTON, Ky.- Appalachian State University volleyball student-assistant coach Charlie Buzogany was tabbed as one of eight recipients of the Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship by the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced the AVCA Thursday afternoon. The eight college students are active AVCA members and will get the chance to attend the 2010 AVCA Annual convention later this year.
The AVCA Student Membership and Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship programs, now in their second year of existence, were conceived as ways to engage college students who are interested in pursuing volleyball coaching positions post-graduation, and give them a head start on their coaching career. In its inaugural year, six students were awarded scholarships to attend the AVCA Convention, and the program expanded in 2010, adding two additional scholarships to deserving students
Scholarship recipients attending the AVCA Convention will have the opportunity to interact with other coaches who have had success at all levels, and explore the limitless networking and educational opportunities available.
Buzogany, an Illinois native has been a student-assistant coach for the ASU volleyball program for the past three seasons. In addition to playing high school volleyball and having a vast amount of playing experience for different club teams, Buzogany also played club volleyball at Appalachian for three seasons as well.
His experience also extends to working numerous volleyball camps, including University of Tennessee, Wake Forest's and Virginia Tech's along with Appalachian's.
Buzogany will graduate in 2011 with a degree in physical education.

Matt Ginipro is very excited for Buzogany and knows what a great opportunity this scholarship presents for him.

"He has been a huge asset to our program over the past three years and attending this year's AVCA Convention will be a great opportunity for him to take the next step as a coach. The AVCA Coaches 4 Coaches program is an outstanding opportunity for young coaches to network with college coaches and learn more about the great sport of volleyball. Charlie is going to be a very good coach and I look forward to seeing where his path takes him."
Buzogany, Ginipro and the ASU volleyball program push on with their 2010 season as the Mountaineers host Chattanooga, Saturday, November 6 at 7 p.m. in the Holmes Center in a very important SoCon North Division battle.
