SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Appalachian State University volleyball standout
Maggie Seeds was named the Southern Conference's Student-Athlete of the Week, announced the conference office Wednesday afternoon.
Last week, the junior posted three stellar outings to help the Mountaineers go 3-0, earning important wins over North Division rivals.
In a sweep of Western Carolina, the outside hitter totaled 10 kills, hitting .400 in the match, while also tallying two block assists. Against Chattanooga, Seeds had 11 kills, hitting .714 and registered two block assists along with a block solo in the sweep of the Lady Mocs. In the final match of the weekend, a 3-1 win over Samford, the junior had another double-digit kill performance with 10, while hitting .421 and recording four block assists.
The Clemmons, N.C., native holds a 3.96 GPA and is majoring in physics.
Seeds and the Mountaineers are currently in the hunt for the SoCon North Division title, as they hit the road for their final two regular-season matches.
The Black and Gold will first battle Elon for the division title, Friday, November 12. The match is set to begin at 8 p.m. in Elon's Alumni Gym.
