Durham, N.C. - Appalachian State University field hockey fell 11-0 to the Boston College Eagles, leaving them 2-9 on the season.
The Eagles got on the board quickly with a goal by Kathleen Murphy just 39 seconds into the first period. Seven Eagles accounted for the eleven goals, Bob Dirks finished the game with a hat trick, in a span of three minutes. Chelsey Feole and Michelle Tavener each put two on the board.
Offensively, Amanda Young led ASU in shots with four on the game, but was unable to convert them.
Denise Adams started in goal for the Apps and recorded two saves before freshman Bridgette Street entered the game. Street recorded thirteen saves during her fifty-four minutes of play.
The Apps return to play October 11th against Radford in Radford, Va. at 1 p.m.
