BOONE, N.C. - A record number of fans ordered 2008 Appalachian State University football season tickets on Tuesday, the first day season-ticket orders could be placed with the ASU athletics ticket office.
Due to the first-day rush, the exact number of season-ticket orders is not known at this time. However, despite bringing in extra personnel in anticipation of the event, the ticket office was still occupied all day with fans wishing to claim their seats for next fall's six regular-season games at Kidd Brewer Stadium and the orders undoubtedly set an first-day record at Appalachian.
For fans wishing to take in all of the action of each home game played by the three-time-defending NCAA Division I national champions, it has become imperative to be a season-ticket holder. All six regular-season home games sold out at The Rock last season and even with the addition of approximately 4,000 seats on the stadium's east side this year, advance sellouts are likely again in '08.
Seat locations will not be determined on a first-come, first-served basis, but rather on the Yosef Club donation structure and priority points system. Those who renew their season tickets by the May 16 deadline will have the opportunity to return to their same seats in 2008. Seat locations for all new orders will not be assigned until after the May 16 renewal deadline.
