LOUISVILLE, KY. - Brittany Zahn was named an honorable mention All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The senior outside hitter was recently named to the organization's all-district first team as well. This season, Zahn was twice named the conference Volleyball Player of the Week, as well as the October Player of the Month. She set a single-season record with 575 kills and added 277 digs defensively. The Charlotte, N.C. native twice set the school's match record with 34 and 36 kills on consecutive days. Her 36-kill match is the fifth-highest mark in NCAA Division-I competition this season, and she finished the year in the nation's top 20 with 4.92 kills per game. ASU finished the season with a 19-14 record, second place in the SoCon. Zahn is the only player from the Southern Conference to earn the honors, and is the second ASU volleyball player to be named to an AVCA All-America team. In 2004, Stephanie Panzer was an all-region team member and honorable mention all-America as well. Zahn is part of a strong departing senior class that includes three-year starting setter Lorelle Rau and Academic All-American Dianna Thomas.
