BOONE, N.C. - For the third consecutive season, the Appalachian Sports Network will provide wall-to-wall coverage of the Southern Conference Basketball Championships from Charleston, S.C. The action beings Wednesday night with a special tournament edition of Mountaineer Talk, live from the Hilton Garden Inn North Charleston. David Jackson, David Shumate, and Adam Witten will provide a full preview the Apps' run through both the men's and women's SoCon basketball championships. Men's tournament coverage begins Thursday at 2:45 p.m., as ASN broadcasts the Mountaineers' first-round match-up with Wofford College. David Jackson and Adam Witten will, once again, broadcast all of the exciting tournament action from the North Charleston Coliseum. In addition to ASN's regular radio affiliate list, opening round, semifinal round, and championship game coverage can be heard on Sirius Sattelite Radio. Coverage continues under the moniker of the Southern Conference Sports Network, powered by ASN, with the final two first round contests of the day following the Apps' first round game. New for 2006, ASN provides coverage of the women's basketball championships, in its entirety, through broadcast partners WASU 90.5 FM and the Southern Conference Sports Network. David Shumate and Michael Trivette begin the action at 2 p.m. Thursday with coverage of opening round action from McAlister Field House on the campus of The Citadel. Internet broadcast information is available at www.GoASU.com and www.SoConSports.com. Fans who purchase the streaming video package from SoCon.TV will hear ASN/SCSN coverage on those webcasts.
