HIXSON, Tenn. - Appalachian State University senior Brady Eckard posted back-to-back rounds of 70 and 72 to earn a tie for 20th place at the Re/Max-UTC Fall Classic at Valleybrook Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. After carding an opening-round 75, Eckard closed with scores of one under par and one over par to finish in a tie for 20th (75-70-72-217) among 89 individuals in the field. As a team, Appalachian battled back from an opening round of 305 to turn in scores of 299 and 291 in the final two rounds, good for a tie for 14th in the 16-team field, 58 strokes behind host and champion, Chattanooga. Junior Ronnie Christopher closed play with a one-under-par 70 to tie for 48th individually (74-79-70-223). Rounding out the scoring for the Mountaineers were seniors Guido DiCicco (77-75-74-226, T-61st), Drew Davis (82-75-75-232, T-78th) and Dan Gossin(79-79-77-235, T-83rd). UTC's Bryce Ledford took home the individual title with a seven-under-par 206. Appalachian continues its fall season on Oct. 31-Nov. 1 when it travels to Charleston, S.C. for the Charleston Southern Invitational.
