Each Friday, GoASU.com will feature three student-athletes in a 10 Questions segment. This week, Volleyball's Amy Lewis (Jr. ?€˘ Middle Blocker ?€˘ Chesnee, S.C.) took the time to sit down and answer 10 questions. 1. What are your expectations for the remainder of the season? A. I think we should go far. We've had a couple of let downs, but if we keep practicing the way we are, we'll end up with a pretty good season. 2. Coming into the season what were your goals? A. I'm coming off of a shoulder surgery last year and I'm just getting back into the game and back into playing and finding my place on the team, which I hope I've done. 3. What is your favorite thing about playing college volleyball? A. I love my teammates, I love having that instant family when I play, love the energy, and I just love playing volleyball. 4. What is your favorite thing about Appalachian State? A. I like the atmosphere, I like the outdoors and I love the school. There are really good educational programs here. 5. What made you decide to come to ASU? A. Once I came up for my official visit, I fell in love with both the school and the girls. 6. Who is the best player you've ever played against? A. Probably my friend Rachel (VanMeter), who I played with in club ball. She now plays at Illinois, she's earned all-Big 10 honors. I'm glad I got to play with her. 7. Do you have any pre-game rituals? We always have pre-game meals and then come back here. I personally try not to take a nap, because if I nap I'm very groggy and cranky. Most of the time I'm very up and focused before a game, there' nothing very specific that I do. 8. Where is your favorite place you've ever traveled for volleyball? A. To Texas (Fort Worth) when we went to TCU last season. It was fun, I really enjoyed it. 9. How did you get started playing volleyball? A. I started in seventh grade when I was in middle school. My main focus was basketball, but when I moved to South Carolina, club volleyball was really big and I got involved and just fell in love with it. 10. Do you have a most embarrassing volleyball moment? A. I have a lot of those, I do embarrassing stuff all the time. Sometimes I completely miss balls, sometimes I've fallen over people, I do clumsy stuff a lot.
