BOONE, N.C.- Samantha Giudici led Appalachian State University with 12 kills as the College of Charleston defeated ASU 3-0. The Mountaineers saw an eight match win streak broken as they fell to 14-6, 6-1 on the year. College of Charleston improves to 13-5, 6-1. Appalachian hit only .167 for the match, finishing with 45 kills. The Panthers hit .364 with 56 kills and three players in double-figure kills. Kali Rumberger led Appalachian with 13 digs in the match. Chrissy Finch also tabbed double-digit kills with 11 on the afternoon. Setter Amber Mangrum added 36 assists, four kills and five digs to the Appalachian effort. For College of Charleston Tiffany Blum and Rebecca Wieters finished with 13 kills each. Setter Kaycie Carr had 40 assists and six kills. Appalachian State returns to action Saturday Oct. 16 as they host Furman at 6 p.m. The next action for College of Charleston comes as they hosts Charleston Southern Oct. 13.
