Charleston, SC ?€“ Junior outside hitter Samantha Parisi had 12 kills to go along with two service aces and senior setter Katie Livingston recorded 33 assists but Appalachian State was much too strong as they beat The Citadel 3-0 (30-21, 30-23, 30-24) in Southern Conference volleyball action in McAlister field house Friday night. The Citadel (7-12, 0-6 SoCon) also got 11 kills from senior middle blocker Audra Ritchie while junior right side hitter Marina Daniel recorded six kills and three total blocks. Appalachian State (14-5, 6-0 SoCon) was led by sophomore outside hitter Chrissy Finch with 16 kills as junior middle blocker Stephanie Panzer added 11 kills and three total blocks. Senior setter Amber Mangrum added 38 assists and three service aces for the Mountaineers. The Citadel will return to action on Thursday October 14 at 7:00 pm when they take on Fayetteville State in McAlister Field House. Appalachian State will return to Boone to play host to the College of Charleston at 1:00 pm on Sunday October 10.
