BOONE, N.C. ?- The Battle for the Old Mountain Jug between Appalachian State University and Western Carolina on Nov. 10 will be televised nationally on ESPNU, the network announced Tuesday. Kickoff for the 72nd installment of the Appalachian-Western rivalry remains at 3:30 p.m. with the tape-delayed broadcast airing on ESPNU at 10:30 p.m. Appalachian has won 17 of its last 19 televised games, including a stretch of 16-straight victories on TV from Oct. 15, 2005 through this year's season-opening triumph at Michigan. The appearance on ESPNU is ASU's ninth in the past three seasons on the ESPN family of networks. Prior to the 2005 postseason, Appalachian's only appearance on the ESPN networks came in 1979, when ASU and WCU played just the second college football game ever aired on the fledgling network. A very limited number of tickets remain for the ASU-WCU showdown. Tickets can be purchased by phone at (828) 262-2079 or online by clicking here.
