App State Softball head coach Whitney Jones announced the addition of Liam Brady to the softball coaching staff as a graduate assistant on Aug. 19, 2025.

“We are very much looking forward to Liam continuing with our program this season as our graduate assistant,” Jones said. “Liam was a tremendous help in all areas this past season on and off the field. We are grateful for his dedication to our players, and we look forward to elevating our program with him remaining on board.”

Brady served as the softball team’s lead student manager in 2025. In his role, he assisted in several areas, including acting as the bullpen catcher during practice and games, obtaining and uploading game tape to Synergy and assisting coaches with batting practice and defensive work. He also helped provide the coaching staff with the proper tools and statistics to analyze trends and identify strong points of the team.

In his lone year as the student manager, Brady was a part of 23 wins under Jones and saw the Mountaineers make their first appearance at the Sun Belt Tournament since 2022.

"Having the opportunity to continue my journey at this incredible university with so many talented student-athletes and coaches is a blessing,” Brady said. “The support staff, athletes and coaching staff have become a second family to me, and I look forward to working with them to achieve our ultimate goal of bringing hardware and championships to the High Country.”

“A special thank you to Coach Whit for believing in me and providing a kid from a small town in North Carolina the chance to help put App State Softball on the map.”

In addition to his work with the softball team, Brady has also been a part of the 704 Sports Academy in Gastonia, where he assisted with youth softball and baseball clinics. He aided with logistics and daily operations at the camp and also gave one-on-one lessons to camp attendees.

A native of Mount Holly, N.C., Brady is pursuing his master’s degree in kinesiology with a focus in strength and conditioning. He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2025.
