Biography

2018: Started all 17 matches and logged 1,164 minutes in his best year as a Mountaineer ... he was second on the team with eight points after posting a career-high three goals and two assists ... was the only player on the team to 
tally multiple goals and multiple assists ... tied for second on the team in scores and assists ... his career year led to an all-Sun Belt Second Team selection ... Bennett recorded the first game of his career with one goal and one assist in a 3-0 victory against Belmont (9/3) ... also scored in wins over VMI (9/1) and 11/3) ... his 27 shots, which were second on the team, was tied for ninth in the Sun Belt ... he was named Second-Team All-Sun Belt after his stellar campaign ... helped the Apps earn their first winning season since 2012 with an 8-6-3 mark and highest finish in the Sun Belt at third ... finished his career with five goals and four assists for 14 points, while starting in 67 of his 73 matches. 

2017: Started 13 of 19 matches, opening the season with 12-consecutive starts…logged 1165 minutes, including 99 minutes in a 0-0 draw against High Point (Sept. 30)…finished with a team-high 19 shots, five on goal…scored one goal, the lone penalty kick attempt of the season against LIU-Brooklyn (Sept. 3)…had a season high four shots against UNC Asheville (Oct. 10)…put a season-high two shots on goal against UNCG (Sept. 23) ... helped App post five shutouts, which was the second most in the Sun Belt, while the Mountaineers were tied for second in goals allowed (1.21 GA) and third in goals against average (1.12). 

2016: One of two players to play and start in all 18 matches … a team captain, he played nearly every minute of every game, logging a team-high 1,647 minutes … helped lead App State to three shutouts and three defensive saves … recorded the game-winning assist on the go-ahead goal against UNC Asheville (Sept. 27) … finished with seven shots, one of which on goal.

2015: Exploding in his first year on the pitch, he appeared in 18 games, starting 17 of them ... scored his first collegiate goal against Radford (Sept. 18) ... had an assist against North Florida (Aug. 28) in his first collegiate appearance.

High School: A midfielder from Wilmington, N.C., Bennett was an all-conference player his junior and senior seasons, while earning all-region both of those years, as well as, all-state as a senior. Bennett earned team MVP and appeared in the All-Star East-West game and the Clash of the Carolinas. He scored 15 goals and tallied 13 assists and amassed 43 points in his high school career.

Bennett was member of Triangle Futbol Club Alliance 96 and was a state champion and regional finalist in 2014.
