2014: Earned the role as Appalachian State’s place kicker with a strong fall camp but struggled early in the season before suffering an upper-body injury that forced him to cede the duties to Bentlee Critcher ... converted 18-of-19 extra points but made just 1-of-5 field goals on the season ... lone field goal was a 31-yarder in the home opener against Campbell ... had a devastating day in the Mountaineers’ 21-20 loss at Southern Miss, missing all three of his field-goal attempts (36, 43 and 42 yards), sending two kickoffs out-of-bounds and having the would-be game-tying extra point blocked with six seconds to go in the ballgame ... despite the disappointing outing at Southern Miss, Appalachian State’s coaches remained committed to him for the following week’s Sun Belt Conference opener at Georgia Southern ... however, he sustained an upper-body injury while making a tackle at GS and, after missing a 34-yard field goal against South Alabamaa the following week, was replaced at place kicker by Critcher ... recovered from injury to handle kickoffs for the final two games of the season and excelled with four touchbacks in 14 kicks against UL Lafayette and Idaho ... finished the season 58.8-yard average over 33 kickoffs.
