Biography

Veteran serves as perhaps Appalachian State’s most versatile lineman … possesses the ability to contribute at both tackle and guard … has started games at both left tackle (five starts) and right guard (three starts) over the course of his career … is penciled in as the top backup behind starting left tackle Kendall Lamm going into fall camp … plays the game with great passion and tenacity.

2012: Appeared in eight games … filled in as a starter in three contests — at left tackle vs. Chattanooga in place of injured starter Kendall Lamm and at right guard vs. Samford and Wofford in place of injured starter Alex Acey … despite starting only three games, saw the fourth-most action of any Appalachian offensive lineman over the course of the campaign with 542 snaps … graded out at 73 percent over the course of the season … played all 72 snaps at Chattanooga and graded out at 76 percent with a knockdown … received a season-best 86-percent grade with seven knockdowns in just 36 plays against Coastal Carolina … named academic all-Southern Conference for achievements on the field and in the classroom.

2011: Saw action in nine games, starting the final five contests of the season … made four of his five starts at the all-important left tackle position (protecting the blind side of quarterback Jamal Jackson) … started at right guard in the regular-season finale at Elon due to an injury to regular starter Matt Ruff … turned in best graded performance of the year in first start against top-ranked Georgia Southern, grading out at 77 percent overall and 77 percent in the run game with a knockdown ... had two knockdowns in 28-21 come-from-behind win at Elon ... named academic all-Southern Conference for achievements on the field and in the classroom.

2010: Appeared in seven games as a reserve offensive lineman, primarily at right guard ... played a season-high 17 snaps versus N.C. Central and graded out at a season-best 76 percent ... recorded two knockdowns in 14 snaps against The Citadel.
